Dreaming about alligators ?

for the past week I have been dreaming about alligators. ill be sitting in my house and im terrified because when it becomes dark the gator will come from the lake( I don't even live near a lake ) and circle my house when I look outside from any where in my house its always there just staring back at me I always wake up before anything else happens. I'm nor scared of alligators I live in Florida so there nothing new to me. I just want to know why there in my dreams and what it means
