I kind of want to make more friends...online or otherwise.?

but I have nothing interesting to say, usually. Plus, I'm cynical, so that's not a big friend thing. So, how do I go about doing this exactly? Every time I join a forum or go to a party people ignore me because they all know one another. I try to come up with something to talk about, but people just kind of walk away.
