Should I ask to use tampons or just go in?

alright, so im 12 & have had my period for over 2 years. i just got my period (it was supposed to start on the 28th) & i have my softball party on saturday which is at my fraands, who has a pool :P mine usually last about 4-5 days, so ill obviously still have it. mine has been relatively light the last few months (like only changing my pad 2-4 times a day), but do u think i should ask my mom to use tampons or just go in? im pretty freaking close with my mom lol, so i could just say i cant go swimming if she asks me (in our pool), & then ill tell her i just got it yesterday & talk about all that...ooor should i just go swimming? i was kinda thinking of just going in, since it stops while in water (& my flows a little less than regular)...and the worst that can happen is me leaking (i highly doubt thatll happen), & ill be surrounded by a buncha girls (like 5 of em know), so theyll understand, just decided to inclue that lol..ANYWAY, wataya think i should do? ask to wear tampons or just go in the pool? thanks (:
